Sriyanie Miththapala

Sriyanie Miththapala obtained her PhD studying ‘Genetic and morphological variation in the leopard (Panthera pardus): a geographically widespread species’ from the School of Forestry and Conservation, University of Florida, USA, in 1992. She is currently a freelance consultant for IUCN. She is also a member of IUCN’s Commission on Ecosystem Management, its Climate Change & Biodiversity Policy and Practice Thematic Group, and its Commission on Education and Communication. Her first love remains the wild cats of the world and in particular, Sri Lanka, where she lives.
